XpectralTEK and its partner CARAA -Centre d'Analyses et de Recherche en Art et Archéologie developed a spectral imaging project with Quimper Dioceses and Marine Letouzey on XVII century parchments of Don Michel Le Nobletz (« le prêtre fou »). These parchments were already subject to scientific analysis in February 2017 and were the subject of an exhibition and a symposium organized by the Diocese of Quimper, in France, in June 2017. The new examinations were carried out by XpectralTEK on May 31st and consisted of a multispectral reading of the parchments at different wavelengths, with the main purpose of better understanding the genesis of these maps, the repainting and everything that was done to them since the seventeenth century. CARAA is an analytical research unit which applies the most suitable and modern physico-chemical techniques existing for cultural heritage and art market in order to answer questions related to the conservation, restoration, dating, characterization or authentication of art objects.
